badges and emblems

what kind of glue,adhesive, or tape is used to hold these to the body. i took mine off to sand and prime the metel and when im finish with color and clear coat, i want these items back on the truck. i just have no idea what is the best stuff to use.

i thought this would help, but it just says "pre-applied backing".

Plain old double sided tape. The 3M stuff is gauranteed for I believe 10 years, that's what I used to re-apply all of mine.

From the factory it uses some kind of black glue or foam stuff.

X2. I bought some made by 3M specifically for mounting emblems. It's held up for five years, no problems.

another cheap way of doing it is using black silicone and using masking tape to hold it on til it dries on there

The factory uses either Norton adhesives' emblem tape, or the 3M emblem tape. Just make sure the surfaces are clean... If it was black, it was 3M, if it was gray, it was Norton.

cool deal on the 3m tape, i can get that pretty easy.
still have a ways to go before im there though. getting a donor cab sunday cant wait. still have lots of sanding, priming and more to do, before im ready to "trim" it out.
