I got a 95 f150 302 v8, wondering if i can buy a tachometer and somehow hook it up to my truck , im talking about one like at autozone or something , i have an automatic transmission i just want to know my rpms, and my truck doesnt have one.
If you want to, you could go to a junkyard and get a factory instrument cluster with the tach. From what I've heard, the trucks without it have the wiring harness for the tach. I can't confirm 100%, as my truck has the factory tach.
yep.......you can hook any of those at tachs up as long as it's for an 8....and most are. Just figure out a place to mount it and run the wires to your coil.....negative side I think.....should be instructions with the tach. Some mount them in A pillar pods.....some on the dash......some on the wheel
Good Luck
I coulda told you that....go get you a little autometer like cody has in his truck....cheap and small we can mount it on your pillar or on top of the dash. we could probably do that today if you wanted...take like 20 minutes at the most
you can hook up any tack . or get factory one for your truck it will plug right in . You will need a 94 -95 guage cluster for it to work in your 95 . And it will look less cluttered in truck .
i acutally have a factory instrument cluster with the tach for a 94-96 model with 8 cylinder here at my house if you are interested in buying it and also u can check on ebay for one also but sometimes they seem to be a little expensive. if you are interested in it email me or send a private message
no offense to the factory instrument cluster but an after maret tach mounted on the pillar and lit up with some blue lights is way cooler than stock haha just my 2 cents but its bobbys truck not mine lol
Im not much for aftermarket tachs and the way they look. I havent seen the pillar mounted ones though, that may be ok, but the big bulky ones just dont appeal to me.
