MPG update, 13.4 on my second tank. Will be hooking up my 18k 40ft weekend wwarrior this weekend and let you all know what kind of mpg I get. Really liking the truck. Had to turn around on a very narrow 2 lane road this weekend, Man this truck turns sharp....

Thanks for reporting this information, Todd. It helped sway me to order my F450 with the 4.30 gears yesterday. Now I just have to wait until it comes in. You know I'll be reading everything you guys write about your F450s during that time.

For figuring the Speedo....You should be right at 60 seconds between markers at 60 MPH. Two minutes at 30 MPH, and I think 48 seconds at 75 MPH. I'm not sure about the 75 MPH number, but I'm *pretty sure* that's correct. If I knew the calculation on how to figure it, I would just give that instead.

You really ought to keep your speed steady over a longer time period than one mile to get a more accurate measurement. I always calculate actual speed over a three mile distance using mile markers as mentioned above. The trick is to keep your speed (whatever it is) exactly the same over the three mile distance.

Here's the math for traveling three miles in three minutes:
15840 (feet in three miles) / 180 (number of seconds) = 88 (feet per second) X 60 (seconds in a minute) = 5280 (feet per minute) / 5280 (feet in a mile) = 1 (miles per minute) X 60 = 60 (miles per hour)

Piece of cake. The only variable is the number of seconds you input in the beginning. If you cover three miles in 100 seconds, you're going 108 miles per hour. I do this calculation in my head all the time. Mostly for something to do when driving and secondly to see how far off my odometer is. If you covered the three miles in three minutes and your speedo shows 54 mph the whole way, your odo is off by 10% in all ranges. Like I said, piece of cake.
