changing cps on 2003 7.3, 10mm bolt is over tightened from factory or reverse threads, dont know but stripped it out good, before i go any further is it reverse threads, thanks for reading
it is completly stripped, cannot get it out. decided to plug in just the cps and zip tyed it to a metal tube next to oil pan, truck just cranks over and will not start now, plugged harness back to original cps truck fired right up, gonna smoke some weed right now and calm down before i drive it through fords showroom window. dont know if i was shipped wrong cps or not.
The CPS must be in the motor to run. The cps reads the cam position and without it installed in the motor, the cam is not moving according to the computer which equals no fire.

Hmmmm, I cannot recommend this action.
Me neither, but if you can get that bolt out. Once out, you can retap to a different thread. Make sure your sober to do that though. Nothing worse than a crooked tap, LOL!

Does this..."it is completly stripped, cannot get it out.".. mean you rounded the corners on the bolt head and can't get the wrench to grip it, or did you twist the head completely off the bolt?

Your handle is fitting
Try cutting a notch into the bolt head with a dremmel and put a flathead screwdriver into it and remove it that way, it will take some elbow grease but it will work. Spray some liquid wrench or WD40 on it and that will help to loosen it. Be sure to be sober before you start wrenching on your truck. Dont want any Strokers getting injured.

Cant remember how much room is there but vice grips will often break the bolt loose. Also a cold chisel and a hammer tap a notch then straight in then at an angle so as to cause the bolt to turn lefty loosey tap some more that will often times cause it to loosen up to where a wrench will get it off. Auto zone may also have a wrench that will lock on a rounded head bolt. Good luck and by weed I am sure you ment Tobacco right?
Now that you mention it BK I think Craftsman makes a wrench that will grab onto a stripped bolt head. You can pick it up at Sears
Yes, I have a set like that, but not from Sears. Matco tools, I think.
They look on the inside what an easy-out looks like on the outside. Sort of a barbershop spiral tapered cone shape. The deeper it goes on, the tighter it grips. In real stubborn cases, I just place it over the rounded head and pound it on with a hammer. The bolt will then either come off or snap in two. The tool does not slip at all.
