Anyone Supercharged his engine?
I was looking into some supercharger products and now I'm wondering if one did put such a thing into his Bronco and what the results are.
I'm thinking of maybe putting one in, a mild one that works at the lower rpms where we drive our Broncos - so starting with 1500.
But butting one in also raises the question if the tranny holds the power then. What are the required changes to an E4OD to put the torque to the wheels of a supercharged engine.
So anyone some experience with that?
i was thinking about putting one into, but dont know much about them

"The addition of a turbocharger/supercharger to E & F Series trucks equipped with the electronically controlled automatic transmission (E4OD) is not compatible and will result in customer dissatisfaction. ... Customers will experience shift performance concerns as well as damage to internal transmission components. ... Use of such products is likely to cause excessive stress, load, and temperature levels on all powertrain components. ..."
Your tranny is most likely going to fail if you put a blower on your truck. You can get much better low RPM performance from other engine mods, and spend a lot less money.
that's what I thought anyway though. Designing a vehicle also involves designing an engine and an transmission to it. Car Makers don't spend the extra money to make the transmission beefier than it is required to handle the motor torque and power.
I did browse and did find some additional links on that and did a review, and I have to agree - for 3000 bucks you can put a whole lot of other things into your Bronco to get a nice performance for everyday driving than putting such oversized hairdryer in it.
And to be honest to myself and others, it's a Bronco we are talking about. A truck simply that will never become a Formula 1 racing car.
But still, I think all Bronco owners like their toy and have that graving to have that big power under the hood that the outside leaves you thinking about.
