I am not sure what you are asking.
Do you want to know where the fuel pumps ground is located?
Do you want to know how power gets to the fuel pump?
What year are we talking about?
What truck are we talking about (150, 250)?
What size engine do you have?
I have a 1995 F150 with a 302. I need to know where the ground is, so that I can use it again haha so for the miscommunication
The fuel pump ground is located at the LH front of engine compartment, on upper radiator support. It is right in front of the windshield washer/radiator overflow reservoir.
Could the ground be out in the tank though or are the only wires outside of the tanks... my friend said they could be inside the tank but im not sure the code reader told me the secondary fuel tanks ground was out, so.. im just wondering if its inside the tank.

I told you where the only ground is in my above post. There are no ground points inside the tank for the fuel pump. The only ground point inside the tank is for the fuel gauge.
I do not know what you mean by "secondary fuel tanks ground was out".
okay.. but the line could be corroded anywhere... lol, so i guess i have to re run the entire wire i suppose.
If you are not getting any power to the front pump you may have a bad selector switch. I have no idea why you are looking at grounds if you have no power.
Ha, that's what the code reader told me that it was when i put it on there, i dont know haha, like if i flip the swtich to the rear i can hear the rear turn on, but if i flip it too the front its nothing.
Hey sub ford, no reason to get an attitude.....When we ran the code rader it through a code that read Secondary Fuel Pump Ground Out, what he is asking is if the pump is inside the tank. If it is inside the tank, we have to drop the tank to change the wires. He is new to all this truck talk stuff so cut him some slack and dont get an attitude it isnt necessary!
What we need to do bobby is find out if that switch is bad first, if it is then we can just replace it...if the switch is good then we will go to the pump and see if it is bad....if not then we go to changing the wires....

Can you post the code number?
It is a little hard to look up a code in reverse lookup.

I do not know what you are talking about, I answer all posts the same, direct and to the point.
jus seemed to me like you were getting frustrated.....sorry for the problem it caused u. But yah i think the code number was 549 if not that 529 had em saved on my phone but didnt think i needed it anymore so couldnt tell u. when it is talking about secondary pump im assuming that it is tlking about the front tank right? since we are on the topic of codes and code reading.....the reason we hooked up the reader was because it sounded like we ad a cylinder misfiring. The code reader failed to inform us that our 1 and 3 sparkplug wires were swapped; it seems that the computer should realize this and throw a code for it.

The 549 code does not exist and a 529 is a data com code.
I do not know who did the scanning but the "Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit" refers to the "Fuel Pump Driver Module" and the "Fuel Pump Driver Module" is not used on 1996 and older trucks. He did say this was a 1995 did he not?
we ran the code at oreilly's, by plugging it in the ecc which is under the hood. We used an auto x-ray scanner, and ran the Scan button on the unit. It only showed the secondary fuel pump groud out. The secondary pump didnt work and its not what we were testing for but its the only thing that came up. Im not familiar with the whole computer thing cuz my truck doesnt have it but im pretty sure thats the code that popped up and under the number it said secondary fuel pump ground out or disconnected or something
