3.0L Cam?

Has anyone put an aftermarket cam in a 3.0L vulcan motor out of the 95-97 motor?

Bumping this for you...there was a post recently about cams for the 3.0L. Of course, digging through the first 5 pages of this forum and first few of the 3.0L forum came up with nothing, but I do recall SOMEONE having a website for a company that made cams for the 3.0L. Hopefully they will chime into this with that company's name and website. I'll do a little searching and see if I can find it.

Sounds great RP. I'd be interested in that myself with my 94 3.0 if nothing else just for the novelty of having a cam! It'd be great even if there was a power gain!

Found it, it's Camcraft.

Here's the direct link:

Good price considering what you get.

Yea i did find that website and did talk to a lot of people but thats why i was curious if anyone had actually put a cam in the motor since the lift on that cam was .448 and stock lift is .260 and thats a major jump and wanted to know what else i would have to replace besides the whole valvetrain.

now from doing my homework a jump of that much will make a noticible difference and from talking to a few machine shops it would also change my power range to 2000rpm-6200 rpm which is stupid since the truck can only go to 5500rpm right now

And remember that around town, you will probably never break 3K RPMs unless in "spirited driving" as Ford likes to call it. That camshaft is designed for race engines spending their run at high RPMs, and will generally suck around town (not to mention probably suck gas) as it will require some revs on the engine to get you from A to B.

thus i was looking for something like a .340 or .350 lift range since that would be plenty sufficent for decent power and not kill my gas mileage totally and still give me the power where i want it.

Especially since this isnt a honda motor that can rev to 8 grand and live after doing so.
