Banks techi-cooler installed
The only downside to the kit was that it was missing a required gasket (compressor outlet gasket) and it re-used the stock silcone hoses off the old spider. Mine were trashed which meant 100 bucks at the ford dealership for new ones. F!
I am really suprised how clean the installation is as far as the fit. Once you get the boost tubes adjusted properly, there is clearance to every hose, tube, panel etc. I was really suprised. I did not have to move, relocate, or bend a single part to get this thing on. I did of course have to cut two gaping holes in the front of the truck for the boost tubes to pass through, but that was to be expected.
So for the impartant part. Performance.
There is a monster hill just east of my house on highway 80. Looooooong 7% grade uphill. I used to be able to get my pyrometer into the trouble range with my chip in the +75 HP power position. Now in the +120 HP position, the EGT's never passed 8K. To get it there, I had my foot about 90% into it at about 90 MPH.
At the top of the hill I stopped at a gas station got a cold one and stood in the parking lot next to my truck, drank the beer and eye balled her.......very satisfied.
I recommend it.
Of course the real test comes on friday in route to Idaho when I pull 10K lbs all the way up over Donner pass..........

If you wind up anywhere near Nampa, Idaho, on Friday or the weekend, drop by. I'll put on a pot of coffee. I'd like to see how your truck looks with the upgrades.
It's nice to hear how everyone's upgrades went and how pleased they are with them, but I'd really like to see how they turned out and how they look, up close.
If you're in the area this trip, (208) 463-4383 is my home number. If you're not coming to the Nampa-area, Boise, Meridian, Kuna, Melba, Homedale, Parma, Eagle, and Star are all within an hour of my home. I can meet you somewhere along the way.
We are going to be checking out the panhandle area and the Boise area as potential places to move to.
I'll give you a call when I know when we are going to be in that area. I'd like to pick your brain about the area you live in as well.
Thanks,
WR
If you can give a business day or two heads-up when you plan on being in the area, I can get you a relocation packet. I work at the Department of Health and Welfare on State Street, between 4th and 5th, in Boise. Send me a PM and I'll give you my work number. Put your name and mailing address in the PM and I can arrange to have relocation packets for all the areas you're interested in. I can include hunting and fishing regulations from the Fish and Game folks if you want them.
The "pamphlet lady" that I get my stuff from is less than three blocks away. I might even be able to get some information from her on the Panhandle area.
