I want a SCT tuner. Who should I get the files from? I see alot of support for BD, LIPD and Elite diesel. I realy want to buy, but can't decide. if you buy the tuner from one(BD), can you get files from another later(LIPD)? Thanks for the input
Most of the folks here aren't big tuner advocates. That is not to say they have no utility as you can scan codes and any decent tune is a marked improvement over the stock setting. Most here are DP Tuner advocates from experience as in, been there, bought that, and now have this. Think it over or join the been there club. I am there with the TS. Good chip, way better than stock, but will eventually move on.
Having said that, there are folks who have your setup who will hopefully advise. I can be happy with my TS but will likely move on when the time is right.

Not me tho. I read what others said and made up my mind to go with DP-Tuner. Others have said they tried others and were happy with DP-Tuner. So why should I go reinvent the wheel?
I'm new at posting. Are you saying the tuners are not as good as the chips? I was under the impression I could get the SCT tuner with files from either DP, LIPD, or whoever.
Yes and no. Yes, the files are the same. The only difference is the SCT is limited to 3 tunes while the chip has many more. Jody from DP-Tuner wasn't selling me that when I talked to him. He told me that he would find the SCT capabilities good since he does tuning. However, for what I told him I was doing, he said to get the Flip chip or the PCM flashed. Also the chip can be changed on the fly while the SCT has to go thru the gyrations.
The capabilities with the 7.3 tuning with the sct software is limited as opposed to 6.0 tuning. The chip tuning software we use has more functionality.
FWIW- It takes appro. 3 or 4 minutes to upload a tune on a 7.3. On the 6.0 much faster because of differences in the prorcessors. It will be your choice. What you are planning to do with your truck will be a factor. Jody does prefer a chip on a 7.3.
However, if a programmer is what you want, then that should be what you get. It is ultimately up to you.
