beeping???

beeping???
my 03 ranger supercab has started some mysterious beeping. every time I start up it beeps five times pauses and beeps five times etc. after a bit it stops but every time I start up it does this. there are no warning lights and no error codes when I plug in my code reader. but just for %$#% and giggles I cleared the error message history anyway. and when I start up the mystery five beeps is still there.
anyone have an idea what this is about and how to correct it?

I had a 95 that had what I called a "door dinger" problem. For whatever reason the beeping would go on for however long the truck was running, and it seemed to be temperature sensitive....worse in the warmer months. I never did figure out what was wrong with it, and pulled fuses, disengaged wires...etc. That particular truck is no longer with me, totalled in 06 by someone who fell asleep at the wheel. RIP 'Ol Blue!

thanks for the reply, since I posted this, I saw from another site that it may be related to an airbag being disconnected. I did take the drivers airbag out while changing the light bulbs in the cruise control buttons. while i did not have any airbag light on and no error messages on my code reader, I cleared messages any way and now the beeping has gone away!! must have been beeping from an old airbag error message.
