Hey guys I just picked up a 1995 Ford F150 XLT 4X4,couple questions...
1)How can I raise the truck up just a couple inches, mabye 2in easily...without lift kits and such. The truck is completly stock.
2)What can i do for a better intake/exhaust combo....
3) I NEED a new front driver seat, the back of the seat has to be held up by a board.Where can I get one, anyone have a used one for sale...Bucket Seat, doesn't matter what color...
You can swap 250 springs and gain about 2 inches, but this only applies to the front. There is a forum already on this topic. As for the seat, Mine the gears stripped out and would not stay up. I used a bolt on the side where the lever is, removed the plastic cover and youll see what Im talking about. Youll be able to lean back again, but wont be able to adjust.
4x4 F-250's use leaf springs, but the 2wd use coils. You can fit those coils in your truck, but anytime you change the ride height in the front you have to be aware of the effects it will have on alignment.
so what is a typical lift for this truck?Anybody know how much weight it could tow?How could I increase the towing capacity...
What do you mean by "typical lift"? Brand? Height? Cost? Or do you mean how do people typically lift their trucks?
It will probably tow about 4000 to 5000 lbs, depending on the gear ratio you have. You can change the gear ratio, but it's expensive in a 4x4 as you have to do both axles. You're never going to be able to increase it significantly anyway because your truck lacks the bigger brakes needed to safely stop a large load. Also, F-150 frames are not as strong as F-250 frames and towing is very hard on a frame. In short, if you tow too much too often, your truck will suffer.
