HELP! Turbo identification
Just got my "van turbo" and set it next to my stock turbo..... somethin' doesn't look right. I'm counting on the turbo gurus to help me identify what, exactly, I just bought. P/N 991967C91 on the right "van turbo". Exhaust housings look identical (except for EBPV butterfly).

That is out of an early 99 van. To put it bluntly, if you want to just drop that turbo in like that, you're screwed. See if you can return it, or sell it. It will work, however you need to find a compressor housing (time to upgrade to an ATS) from a late 99 truck, and the backplate as well. This requires removing the compressor wheel. If you are not going to use the turbo you took off, swap the compressor housings, everything else will be the same. Use the compressor wheel from the van turbo if you are going to use the stock compressor housing.

Thanks for the identification help. So if I get the ATS housing (because why not at this point, right?) and take the backplate off of my old turbo, I can just swap that over to the early 99?

Correct in the logic. Torque those four bolts with a new x-gasket (you'll see)to 200 inch pounds with blue loctite. The compressor wheel on the van turbo looks to be in better condition. 100 inch pounds, no loctite on the compressor wheel.
