Main cap bolt question

I'm doing a front to rear sump oil pan swap and I have a special main cap bolt that I need for the rear sump pickup. My question is; can I take the original main cap bolt out, put the new one in and torque it to spec?
I don't have any engine building experience and am afraid of screwing up my bearings.
Thanks in advance for your help

Yes you can! Make sure you check the torque on the other bolts also. Many people R&R the main and rod bearings while the engine is out.
