Question New Problem – Won’t stay running

1992 F-150 4.9 Liter 5 Speed manual with air conditioning

Took the truck into the shop to have it repaired for poor idling after it warmed up. They replaced a water temp sensor and an air sensor. Truck ran better but after 15 miles it still had idle problems but better than before.

Over the weekend I replaced the Throttle Position Sensor and took a test drive. Same problem ran fine till it got warmed up.

I’m taking it back to the shop today, so I removed the negative ground cable to clear all the codes. After reattaching the ground cable, the truck would crank but only run for a few seconds. Eventually got it to stay running but when I put it in gear and let out fully of the clutch, the truck would stall out. However I found that if I rode the clutch the truck ran fine. I only had to ride it ever so slightly, like just a little below fully extended. But as soon as I took my foot off, it stalled out.

It would idle in neutral without my foot on the clutch.

Any thoughts what me be happening here?

Thanks
Bennie

You are changing the position of the IAC valve when you put your foot on the clutch by changing tables.
