Just had this experience this weekend. PB Blaster the crap out of it. I ended up putting the bracket back on the truck and put vise grips on the bevel area and just started to try to move it (it wasn't going to budge). Hit it with a hammer to push it in a little more and then I was able to start rocking it back and forth a little. After I was able to rotate it 360 and hammered it out with a hammer and screw driver.

I didn't think it was going to come out myself. ANTI SEIZE it once you start putting it back together.

Hope this helps.

Matt

I did the same thing but the caliper in a vise PB blasted the hell out of it and was able to slowly start working it back and fourth. I might even have used a pipe wrench.

I would not recommend using anti-seize on the caliper pins. It will not hold up to the heat these pins could see and will turn into a very sticky goo. Use only a silicone caliper grease approved for disk brakes and check them often if you live in a corrosive area.

Ya i thought anti sieze too but the guys at napa said use the silicon(specialized for disc brake calipers) grease. Passenger side went smooth then drivers i noticed the rubber boot was off on side then i knew is was in trouble If i cant get it off does anyone know what that part is called aside form caliper? so i can price it for a new one. Im not going to destroy it and my time if i can replace the whole thing.

Caliper mounting bracket. I tried just about every approach on mine and i never got it out, then i just put a used but good caliper bracket on it. I ended up trying a different approach by drilling on the pin and that ended up in the garbage.
