I have a 2000 F350, DP,Ford AIS filter w/fender boot, exhaust is stock except for a 4 in. Muffler.
The AIS flter did not seems to help any and I have had it on for a year or more it has a new filter in it. My Question is the other day I removed the filter and drove it for a couple of miles( I know Bad Idea) but it just has never seemed to help. But the truck ran alot better with no filter in the box. Any ideas why? It just seems like I have lost milage and power with the AIS. I have tried it with out the DP and at different settings.
Just thought I would ask. Thanks AL
If the boots were loose, taking out the air filter shouldn't make it run any better. I would order a 6637 filter form www.fleetfilter.com and see how that works. It is cheap and flows alot of air. You could see if that helps or not.
