4 cats. 2 "precats" followed by 2 actual convertors. At least that's what I was told they were. I do know that when I get the ambition to take em out the junk guy will give me $55/$35 a piece for them, totalling $180.00
Thanks to all.........Dealer told me I need to replace both manifolds & cats for $3K........ I finally found a guy that will do it cheap and can get the manifolds for $135ea, but cats(not even preheat) of $321 each.......any recommendation on where/specifically which cats & precats to get? Also, Truck is 11yrs old, 120Kmi, does it matter if replace muffler and tailpipe now or later, and if now which one recommend for that?
Magnaflow high-flow cats from E-Bay.
Should be around $60 each or so.
This isn't exactly legal...but I just hollowed out my pre-cats so that it looks like they are still there. This way I pass the CA visual smog inspection, where they look to make sure everything is there.
The two Magnaflow high-flows are good enough to allow me to pass the tailpipe sniffer, and I've got a lot of mods including a supercharger (yes, I have a smog-legal Procharger).
