towing capacity?
I have an 83 F250 in the works of being rebuilt and I was wondering what kind of towing this truck is capable of. I am going to put the full float 10.25 rear-end in it with probably 4.10 gears. Truck has 351w and 4spd w/ granny low. Also a dana 60 up front. I am wanting to pull a gooseneck flatbed trailer (around 20 ft.) with a 6000 to 8000lb skid steer on it. I know mileage isn't going to be pretty but as long as I am not going to tear anything up but the fuel pumps that is ok. Just wanting to make sure it will do this safely. Thanks

I addressed a question like this a few days ago. I'm not going to try and repeat it here. But to answer your question it will pull it. Now will it pull a 8000# trailer up a 6% grade at 50 MPH I doubt it. But will it pull that trailer up a 6% grade YES.
