Has anybody added a midship tank from an F250 or F350? I am trying to get dimensions for the 29 and 19 gal. tanks. I am also wondering about the mounting
When it comes to burning dead dinos, it's never enough.
I also would like to consider this option. When towing, 44 gallons doesn't get that far. It’s nice to have a choice as to whether or not to stop for go-go juice based on the prices.
Any thoughts on how much the added weight would affect the MPGs?

19 gallons of fuel will be around 120 lbs (19 x 6lbs/gallon) and I'm guesssing the tank and valve would be under 100 lbs, especially if it's plastic. So about 220lbs total. The Ex weighs more that 8000 lbs and the trailer probably another 8000lbs. 220/16,000 = .014 or 1.3 percent of the total. Doesn't seem like it will make a lot of difference.

I actually have a vegistroke (WVO) system and I am having tank issues. A fuel tank that is a direct fit would solve a lot of my problems. 29 gals would be the first choice.
transferflow.com is the place to check. They have SD midship tanks up to 57 gal! But they might not fit b/c they are designed for SD CC LB and thats a good bit longer than even the X!
Man, that would be nice though. I'd like to have a truck where the limiting factor was peple(pee/food) and not gas/diesel. Filling up would really break the bank though

PAAAALEEEEEESE don't bother me with tree hugger issues, I want lotsa diesel and more diesel to burn, not an inconvenience of finding some bio-diesel, I want to tow my boat 1000 miles with no questions as to where I'm gonna get fuel......
Hey, I applaud his efforts for alternative fuels. He's doing MORE than his share to limit our dependence on foreign oil... (although that may or may not be doing it for that reason). Not that I have a problem with those that burn fossil fuels (hey, i drive an X too, a v10 at that @ 9.5 mpg), but I certainly appreciate those who do their part, just like I appreciate those who drive hybrids to sponsor research into better, newer technology.
As far as I'm concerned. The sooner we get the hydrogen fuel cell stuff figured out, we can really cut down on not only emmissions (only h20) but also stop funding middle-eastern nations that may (or may not) be sponsoring terrorism. The best way to save american lives is to stop funding the terrorosts with our oil money.
Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not bashing your diesel or your desire to go 1000 miles on a tank of fuel (I'd like it too) but I just think that pkthomas should be applauded for his efforts not berated, thats all

I don't think he is. If he can get a seperate veggie tank, you can too. If you can, who says you must put veggie in it? You can put diesel in it.
How so? If you need 100 gals, whether you get it in 5 times at 20 gals a time or 1 time at 100 gals, it is about the same. With a larger tank you can pick and choose where to fill up more than with a smaller tank.

I looked into veg diesel but could not find an acceptable aux tank. This is required for the veg diesel. Thanks for the website on the aux tank and system. I will look into it. Jim
You can get just the tank from where I mentioned above, without having to buy the whole kit. It's 12ga. stainless steel that is bolt on, shipping would probably kill you though.
