The more aggressive the tread patten the better the traction in the thick clay, but it will be louder on the road. No matter what the SSR's will make more noise on the highway, and will get worse as they wear. The Pro-comp is a good tire for all around use, and is a better driving tire on the pavement than the SSR. I run 38" SSR's on my Excursion, and they are good for my application. My ride sees plenty of off-road use, and does toy-hauler duty from time to time. The downside is the things are noisy, (too noisy for some), but the performance off-road outweighs the noise. Plus they look good too, gotta be something there for cool points....
