Im going to get Tsl sx tires of bfg muds for my street truck.this truck has stock gears 4.10's...The tsl sx is a bias tire and the size i was thinking of getting is 36.12.50.16.5's...Do you think there would be a difference in power with stock gears from 35 to 36" tires? If so then ill go with the 35" bfg muds 35.12.50.16,5 i think they are radials?..Also on another post some said tire stores cant balance bias tires as well as radials not sure if thats true or not seeing both tires are 12.50. wide.but im going to ahve them balanced with weights not the sand sorry i have bad luck with sand and i dont wanna listen to bbs spinning around lol.So what one of these tires would you go with for a manily street truck that i offroad maybe twice a month the tsl sx bias or bfg muds?i dont want anything wider than 12.50s ......peace out!
You are comparing apples to oranges. The comparison between the bias ply tire, and the radial should not be compared for a street driven truck. The radial will ride better, handle better, wear better, balance better, handle a greater load, man it goes on, and on. Maybe the other tire should be the SSR, and not the SX. The SSR is a radial, and is hard to beat for dual duty vehicles. If yours will only see off-road duty once in a while I would recomend the BFG mud terrain. It is a great all around tire, works excellent on the highway, and holds its own off road.
Don't waste your money on the SS SX. You might get 20K miles out of it if you rotate and balance them often.
The BFG M/T will get 45-50K miles if you take care of them, and will cost close to the same as the SXs.
The SX will look better, and pull better, but you shouldn't be disapointed with the BFGs, plus you'll get your moneys worth with them.
DONT WASTE THE MONEY ON THE SX'S UNLESS YOU PLAN TO START TAKING IT OFF ROAD A LOT MORE, bfg's will be perfect for you, or any other similar mud terrain, there is lots of cheaper tires that will pull the same off road and last just as long.
Yeah, they sell a 35 for $300 a piece, so when you pay for 3 you pay $900 and get 4.
Or you wait till the end of the month and pay $225 each, and 4 would be $900.
Not sure, but the Pro comp M/T is basically the same tire and might cost less.
ive seen the procomp mud terrains tear chit up b4, a buddy of mine had 31x12.50 boggers on his jeep after they went bald he bought some procomp m/t's and i was very impressed, those tires pull so good it was incredible, in 2wd, he was going further in the slick chit than other people on mud tires, not me though hahaha
I like the BF's on a truck that gets driven on the road alot. I have a friend that got 50,000 miles on a set. But nothing will pull with a swamper. If i was going to run a swamper on the road it would be a ssr. Good look.

I run BFG M/T's on my work truck and it has been a great tire all around, it does excellent in the wet stuff and has great road manners. You can't go wrong with the BFG's
ive had both the of those tires youre interested on my jeep. when i used to daily drive it i had the bfg's they did well in every situation. since then my jeep just goes on the trailer now behind my truck and is offroad only since then ive gotten the sx's and they work much better in the mud and rocks but are terrible on the street. loud as hell too
lol yes... like everyone else said... go with the bfg... there about the same price as a swamper... but when bias ply tires are cold.. they ride like cement blocks... till they warm up.. even then not that much difference.. and the bfg.. is gonna hold up alot better.. last longer... a tsl -sx.. is a serious mud tire... besides the bogger.. so yes... do your self a favor and go with the bfgs.... if i was you also look into other tires.. you can get other nice tires.. that last awhile for a decent price
go to www.tyres1.com for cheap nice tires.. i buy my tires and rims through them.. also check www.ntwonline.com
i just picked up the new mickey thompson baja mtz 315/75 for my pickup and ive been very pleased with them so far. though i do not go mudding with the truck ithey look like they would perform well. they also have siped tread for better traction in water and icy roads
