Ford 4.6 2V intake spacer.
#85-270 This 3/8" thick phenolic spacer mounts between the upper and lower intake on Ford V-8 4.6 two valve engines. Limits heat transfer and improves airflow to increase performance. Includes a factory gasket so that there is no interference with the stock linkage and hood.
I have seen something similar but for the whole intake manifold. It's basically a phenolic gasket that insulates the manifold from heating up with the rest of the engine therefore providing a cooler air charge, but they don't make them for our engines. I don't see how just a throttle body insulator will insulate enough when the air still has to go through the intake manifold. It probably will help some but at that point it's more of a cost-benefit comparison that all determines on what your willing to spend.
