Things are ok, i sadly had to have my best friend in the world put down tuesday night 5-29-07 he was a loyal wonderful friend for 9 1/2 years.

he got some of the tainted dog food back in march. then whip worms real bad. the tainted dog food detroyed his kidneys. then last week we found out he had a tumor. and it kept bleeding and there was no way in this world i was going to let him suffer., here is a pics i took a while back before he got to sick

Very sorry, We have lost several old loved ones over the last 4 years. It is not and easy thing, but knowing the pain is gone for them makes it better for you.

 

I also lost two in the past year, but not from the dreaded cancer or the contaminated food, but from the "X." I guess you could call her a cancer. She tried to kill me slowly, but found out differently. Still, I miss both of my Golden Retrievers.

 

Over the last 4 years we put down 2 for CA and one died, lost one to a stroke and the other to Kidney failure. Looking at a 15 year cat soon!

Not fun when you have had them for 12-15 years. They are like your kids! If anyone says they don't understand that feeling they have no heart or should not have kids or pets IMO!

 

If our Dalmation needs to go out at night, she comes over and puts her nose right beside my ear.

Then she starts crying at a very low volume till I wake up.
So quiet she never wakes anyone else up but me.....

Just like a kid, except they usually wake everyone in the house.

 

i totally agree, shilo was like a child to me, lot of people thought i was silly for some of the things i bought him and done for him. he loved his squeeky toys he had a big whicker basket full of them, i bought him 1 every week or 2. and one of my friends would bring him a toy eerytime he came over. i recieved his ashes back yesterday, i had him cremated. they sent them in a very nice looks to be hand carved wooden box with alot of designs on it. was very nice. that made me feel alot better as well, now he will always be on my mantle and near us.

he was a very awesome friend. he will always be missed

 

They really are like family. I had to put a 10 year old Bassett...Sam down.

It really hurts. Thankfully, I have a Black Lab that now keeps me occupied. Since our kids are grown and gone....he's a pseudo kid. : )
