Transmission Question Please

My 2001 SD F-350 4x4 7.3 seems to "come out of gear" only slightly in OD, like when climbing a hill, then when I am at the top and ease off the accelerator, then accellerate, the RPMs flare-up only slightly, then when it gets more gas, its fine.
Only had the truck a few weeks, ready to do the filter and fluid (which looks very clean and well maintained) Truck has 116K miles and has been well maintained.
I seem to remember a '94 Cougar I had that did this, and it was fine for over 70k miles. Any opinions? is this normal or a geniune concern? I believe the transmission is a 4R100 Thanks!

It is the computer unlocking and locking the torque converter. It's normal. But it is too new for me to be an expert, someone else will know more.

Now that you mention it, it does sound like the torque-converter engaging....as it should I presume....hummmm

It is the torque converter unlocking as it should. You do have a 4R100 trans.
