Benefits...fewer rpms in high gear. Instead of a 1 to 1 ratio as in a 3 speed, the 4 spd OD has a .70 ratio...translation: 30% fewer rpms. I hear the 5 speed has a .80 ratio...translation: 20% fewer rpms.
Fewer rpms = less engine wear and better gas mileage (Yea!)
