Lifting a 460 engine

Hey all, first post here. I have a 79 F250 supercab with a 460 out of either a 77 or 78 car. Problem is my oil pan is leaking. I have the oil pan loose but can't seem to jack the engine up high enough to get the pan to clear the crossmember. My question is, what size bolts do I need to use in the front and back of the engine to use a hoist on? I am planning to rent a hoist and get this done this week. Thanks for your help.

3/8" will work. Many people just use a couple bolts in the manifold.

Those should be grade 8 bolts, correct? Also what is the thread size or is just standard? Thanks

Grade 5 is better, coarse thread.

Just pull a couple bolts and use slightly longer ones from the junk box or the store.
