Help diagnosing ABS light
The light comes on at start. Goes out momentarily then comes on and stays on. I just bought the truck a week ago. First time I test drove it, it was on. The next time I drove it, light was off. Third time, when I picked it up from the dealer, it was on again and now behaves as stated above.
I've checked the fuse and fluid levels seem good.
Pulled the rear diff. sensor and cleaned of shavings. I tested the sensor with a VOM. Its resistance changes when I put metal near/on the sensor so I think it is working. Is there a better/correct way to test it?
Is there a way to test the front wheel sensors. I haven’t looked at those yet.
I don’t have a way to read the ABS code other than the dealer and they want $100 to do it. The local auto parts store only has “generic” code reader that doesn’t include ABS/SRS.
Any thoughts would be appreciated
