does anyone know where I can find a real (metal heater control valve). I have been through 2 of the cheap plastic ones in the last 9 months. I double checked and I had the flow running though them correctly. the diaphram has given out on all three of them. I don't know how long the first one had been on it prior to my getting the truck. I am not overheating or over pressured.
no the vacume one I can find a metal cable one easy
What year, with or without air conditioning? Where does the valve mount, and is it a heater water control valve, or some sort of a vacuum valve??? I looked in three places in the parts book, can't figure out what you are describing.
1977 f250 460 with ac mounts over by the ac on the hot water line new would be nice experenced would porbally work better than the plastic junk I have been able to find
1977 F250 460 with A/C. Mounts over by the a/c on the hot water line. new would be nice experenced would porbally work better than the plastic junk I have been able to find
ON the hot water line or IN the hot water line---under the hood?
D4AZ-18495-A Heater Water Control Valve Assy. (Motorcraft YG-136) The illustration in vacuum hose section of the a/c-heater diagram shows a vacuum line leading to this control valve. (197/9~pic errs by showing a 302 engine, but the same diagram reflects all engines (300/302/351M/360/390/400/460).
In addition under the dash, there are several blend door vacuum motors, and a a/c-heater temp regulator assy.

It is both, and always has been. Pic reference: Section 197, page 9 -lower picture (pic shows a 302, but all are basically the same and use the same valve). The valve was a big seller in the 1980's and 90's.
