I found factory code, right where everybody said, used 7mm box wrench to remove top screw of module bracket, could move module to position where I could read the code. The keyless system works fine now.
Thanks everyone.
New problem, door locks.
The drivers side switch will not lock doors. The switch in the rear by the hatch
will work all of the locks. I'am sure that if I could perform the "fix" on the drivers side the locks would work well, but I can't get the door panel off, any hints out there. This is on my 99 explorer xlt.
Thanks again.
Do a search on this forum for "door panel", "latch", etc. The panels are very easy to install. My guess is a bad switch - if you have an ohmmeter or a powered test light, you can easily check it.
Take out the screws in the trim piece around the door latch. I think there is also a screw up by the mirror. After that start at the bottom and pop out the retaining clips with a putty knife and lift the panel straight up. This is from memory but it should cover the basics.
