Alarm/Remote Start
Hey Folks,
I know someone is going to bust my stones for posting this in the wrong forum...but hear me out! Im looking for an alarm/remote starter recomendation. I can't afford $500 for one installed so im probably going to do it myself. I am by no means an idiot when it comes to electrical wiring so my only issue is locating the correct wiring and the time it'll take. Regardless of, my other concern with a remote start is the glowplug controller. Obviously when you turn the ignition on the glowplugs warm up and the dash light turns off telling you its "safe" to start. Is there a specific kit I should look for to allow this?
What are you all using in your powerstrokes? I feel like I definately need an alarm. I had a car stolen once, and its not the car im so freaked about, but the tools I left in the back seat, my CD collection and anything else I left IN THE CAR that got stolen. I don't need a super system, but something that will at least deter theft.

Seriuosly I haven't installed an alarm in a diesel, click on a few of the sponsors links above. Someone here has done it and will help you out.

This is a modification I have considered. I haven't done it yet, but I seem to recall that some manufacturers DO NOT make a system for diesel engines. As suggested by Cuda_jim, look at some the links here. Whatever you decide to get, make sure they have a system specifically for diesel engines.
I am an idiot when it comes to electrical stuff, so if you go slow, take pictures, and post your results here with a write-up and photos, I would be very appreciative.
