Performance enhancements

I have a 96 Bronco EB running a 5.8L with mass air. It has 82,000 miles and I have just changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, checked the fluids and flushed the cooling system.

Now that the routine maintenance is all caught up, I am looking at some performance options. I am looking at getting a K&N Air Charger Kit and a computer chip.

Has anyone made either of these modifications on their Bronco's and what kind of improvements did you see?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Mine is a '96 also. I've installed just the K&N filter but I'm very well pleased with results. I did the "general" tune-up as you did (minus the plug wires - yet) plus the filter and also began using "Mobil1" oil. My cumlative mileage increased from 15.3 mpg to 16.1 mpg so far this year. I drive in town about 75% of the time and on the road from Tallahassee, FL to Sylva, NC the rest of the time (mostly Interstate). My next idea is to install an electric fan when I gather some more play money!
