Dead end plugs

OK I know its here but I wasn't paying attention...anyways there was a lot of talk about the intake tube and plugs that had no connectors...I found out today that is how mine is...so whats the deal? Good or Bad?...and I think it refrenced some sort of mod you could perform, but I don't remember it the mod was a good thing or a bad thing and what it was exactly.

Thanks for the info in advance.

Sorry I found the thread but still don't understand...are you guys putting a newer model elbow on or after market and does it go clear down to the manifod or sit atop the intake valve with no guts?

It is a new aftermarket intake elbow that has a more laminar (smooth) flow. If your throttle body doesn't have any pins in the connector you can buy the intake elbox for a 2005-2007 truck and just remove the throttle body. If your throttle body has the pins you need to order the intake elbox for the 02-04 trucks and leave your throttle body there and install the intake elbow on top of it. The 05-07 intake elbow has a larger radius than the 02-04 so it will flow even better.

I don't know, I haven't bought one but I am thinking about it. Check the other threads I'm pretty sure they have named a couple places to get them. I have personally dealt with Truck Toyz, Diesel Performance Parts Inc, and Dieselsite, and have been very happy with all of them. I'm not sure if any of them sell this elbow though.

OK--I guess I missed something here about the throttle plate because I must be one of the very few that has connectors in my harness for the throttle body, have had it unhooked since just about day one of purchase and STILL haven't had a code. Buy the 05-07 elbow regardless of model, take out the throttle plate on the 03-04's, install new elbow and enjoy.

Someone on here has had issues when they unplugged the throttle body. I think it was Storm. I suppose you could unplug the throttle, drive it around for a while and see if it causes any issues, if not then buy the 05-07 elbow. I wouldn't just pull the throttle body out though, cause I know someone here had boost problems when they did.

I spent about a half hour talking to a guy I knkow who has a diesel performance shop that does actual engine builds not just the add ons he himself drive only fords but they do all makes...anyways he just laughed when I told him about it and he actually started in on the technical aspects of changing the elbow; even though he sells them he dosen't reccommend on to me unless I'm going "all out" he says its impossible to tell the difference as a driver with just that installed; there is a difference he says, but only measurable with instruments and even offered to prove it to me by installing one and showing the difference. He say the best bang for the buck for the 6.0L with no other mods is a turbo back exhaust...?
