I cant get the clamp on from the back of the turbo. Theres not a stitch of room whats the secret
If I recall correctly, the last time I had the turbo off, I had to slide the clamp up the up-pipe and position it over the flange when it was VERY loose. The up-pipe and turbo have to be in perfect alignment for it to fit over the flanges and I also positioned and started the clamp before torquing the pedistal bolts. (edit: turbo to pedistal bolts.)
Exactly which clamp are you referring to? I believe there is an issue with a locating pin on the up Y-pipe. If not aligned, you will not get it on. Is that the one? I've not had mine off but seem to recall this problem from others.
Before you installed the turbo in the pedestal, did you slide the clamp back and over the up pipe collector, and hang it out of the way, not to inhibit the install of the turbo? That was easiest for me, becuase once you align the dowel pin in the hole, you can pull the clamp forward and its right where it should be.
