shifting/overdrive problem?
hi ya'll, new here. i have a 97 f150 xlt 4x4 with an automatic transmission. it has the triton 4.6 gas hog in it and has @ 200000 miles on it. it has just began to act up. does fine for awhile, then the tac will lay over to 5000 or 6000 rpms. does not matter if its on cruise or not. will do it wether i am accelerating hard or easy. sort of acts like it is shifting in and out of overdrive. doesn't matter wether the od is on or not. haven't been able to find anything in the chiltons about it. i have gotten a transmission filter and fluid and plan to change this weekend. does anybody have anymore ideas?
