Smoke inside the cab
Hi there, I have a 89 5.8, a few days ago I started hearing a noise like air loosing from the head gasket but it was coming from under the passenger seat, now smoke is getting into the cab. I noticed a broken tube near to the cat, seem like it is supposed to be connected to it, can any one tell me the name of this part, and how difficult is to replace it, thank you very much.

I believe it would probably be called the Air Injection Tube or similar. It should connect to the cat or close to it. If the pieces are still there, get some high temp hose and just splice it. No big deal.

The tube isn't bad to replace. its getting to then clamps up behind motor. I take top intake off and still can be a pain to do.you will probably have to cut tube off where it mounts on cat pipe. Just describe to auto parts if they cant figure it out. You know to go elsewhere. Good luck and small hands

Hi, I wish it was and o2 sensor scurbiedog, truck have been runing fine. It is the Air Injection Tube and it is broken. If I want to connect it together again using a hose I'll have to cut a little piece from the tube (there is no room for tools there), so I am working on a bracket that can keep the tube in place and I will used tape, the type they used on exhaust pipes, hope this will work!, thank you you for the replys guys, I'll let you know how it went..
