Thank Walford. Bigwin56f100 was going to look tomorrow. I am leaving on sunday to pick them up. I was going to get both of them, but my rental truck was never reserved. I am not sure what I am doing now. I will definitely pick on up with my Nissan, but I have a wheel dolly and a driver for the other truck which is now not going to be there.

I was wondering what was the method for moving the trucks to Ohio.I thought you were going to get both trucks at once?It would be a money saver-if possible. The wrecker truck is going to be heavy--maybe over 10,000 lbs-for sure. The red truck could be towed on a trailer.
I have been real busy-are you still going this week-MONDAY?I texture coated my frame-and doing final sanding for paint on the cab/doghouse.I will work on hood separate to glaze/spot putty it and I want it to be perfect.I expect to block it and prime hood many times-before spraying the concept black urethane.
I have my bed near done inside.I still have to buff the outside and I have it jacked up 35''in air to back the 56 under and load it.Hard work when alone!!!After the truck is sprayed ,I will load and u-bolt bed on,and then touch up frame again and-since I used DELTRON --and textured it--looks awesome!!Silver/gray!!
Block sanded at least 5 times and 2 more should do it.I bought extra brake booster/master cylinder and pedal assys.-and need to have my brakes correct before the bed goes on.Still not sure what color to spray trim!!SILVER/GRAY--or RED????I will test sample a wheel and see which color looks sexier!!!!haha.Bill

Great job Bill. I was going to take two trucks, but rental company did not come up with one. I was going to use a dolly to pull the one with no bed. I would just take out the drive shaft. The one with the wrecker body will go on a trailer. I will see if they come up with one tomorrow. I am not to convinced they will. I am going to finish my brakes other than the booster. I will get that on Monday I believe. I will begin to block my cab tomorrow. I have to get some one to help me with the body work on the front clip. I will probably just get it done as good as I can get it then paint it. Next Saturday if weather if nice.

I pulled my 56F600 WITH A POWER-STROKE DIESEL FORD and a 30'deckover dualtandem trailer. This was not bad -but still a truckload!I am worried your T---Nisn't long or heavy enough.I don't know much about them.
I thought you were going to Connecticut, and haul both home at once. That would be aload for a tractor-trailer,or 1 at a time.Let me know your plans.
I am blocking my truck for the past day,and need alot more till happy.
What help do you need on the doghouse-or front-end??Isn't it primed ready for paint?BILL

Yes its primered, but a long way from being ready to paint. Remember I have no body work experience. I am learning as I go. I am going to try to recruit neighbor to help me. He works at a body shop.
I was going to rent a truck from a local rental company, but they never came up with the truck today. I will go get one, and go get the other later. I have the driver and tow dolly just don't have another truck.
I was going to put tow dolly on trailer I have until in CT then hook it up to other truck and pull both back. Just did not work out like I had hoped. Now I will have to make another trip out next week.

I see.I was going to go with you,but seems you have it under control.Plan sounds good.Just make sure you load correctly,or it will be a bad-trip.
I am finishing body this week and paint with RAVEN BLACK-in concept by ppg.The hood will be taken off so I can spray inner fenders, and firewall all the same time. The hood is mint-but still not perfect--lots of hammer/dolly and pounding!!On the sawhorses-I can lay out the concept for the hood. When the brakes are done--I back 56 under my new bed--and u-bolt her to the f600--for the 1st time.NO MORE GRAIN-BED!!!Should be alot lighter. It has translucient roof and enough room for a great parts hauler!!
I bought an extra booster/mast.cyl. and will get brakes done at a FORD DEALER if I cannot figure all the problem out.I don't want to crash and burn!!!haha!!The engine just needs painted yellow, and a timing light on it.I want to drive her a week, before the big trip. After Nat's -we are going to Florida. That is the plan for now.
Let me know what is your plans, dude!!BILL

Kevin-See if you can rent a truck in Connnecticut and have an extra driver?pull the 56 cab/chassis home while you pull the 56 wrecker home.Don't forget to take 2 extra tires and wheels-for the wrecker-if they aren't on the front, and get all the parts on the load.Is you T---n a full size 4door-or extended cab?I just pulled my van-box home 111 miles and the trailer and vanbox was a load and a half.Just be careful-and bodywork is something that takes time and patience.Better plan on sanding and priming and painting the front-end and cab all at 1 time.BILL
