Truck Bed Caps

Brand new to the forum, first time posting. Getting a new F150 Lariat, what brand truck bed cap do you use? Post pictures if you have. I'm actually looking at Snug Top Brand. Thanks

Your talking about Tonneau covers. Well your in luck, I was at a show last weekend and I am full of info.

To start with I hate fibreglass covers. The require regular washing and waxing to look good, they don't support much weight, they are heavy and hard to remove and I can't get any delivered to me with out them being damaged.

That said, if must have fibreglass, I prefer ARE then Lear. If you can live with out it, get an undercover and never look back. thier website is
http://www.undercoverinfo.com

The benefit over the glass is; they have a structure so they support 400 lbs+, the finish is a black wrinkle so if you scratch it the scratch fades away, the black can be touched up with a sharpe, you can remove it by your self in less than a minute (however I do recommend to my customers that you have atleast one person help, they are rather big.), they now include a battery powered LED light.

Other covers to look at, I have a pace edwards bed locker (it's a high end cover), any of the Pace edwards or roll-n-locs (I prefer the aluminum slats of the jack rabit/bedlocker), BAKs new quad fold, Either the lo pro qt or duce from Truxedo, or any extang. I have seen a truxedo rep on here before and I have handled all of these at some point so ask your questions.

Hey ReAX,
I just got a 2007 F-150 Crew cab with 6.5 bed. I'm looking for a tonneau cover. I'm kinda leaning towards the Extang Tuff Tonneau III Cover for a couple reasons. Want to stay away from the snap ones heard they could be a pain. This type has a grove to slide a tab in and looks real simple. Cost is pretty good too, $183 on autoanything.com with free shipping. Any thoughts on this? Thanks...John

The only reason to chose the Tuff over the rest is for the snapless look. Extang really thinks thier products out, the snaps are offset/removable so you can loosen the tarp up. On either cover the bows, have two positions for tension. I have never been disapointed with extang short the orignal RT.

Well if you are getting a fiberglass snug top one I have one and like it.( Reg cab hight cab as well as tonnue). I know a guy that sits o his (tonnue cap) all time at the races and holds up well ( I don't know about paint its his truck . )Only problem is both of them are off my trucks 90% time I only use 1 or other on trips . to keep stuff dry. rest of time they are in the way of hauling stuff. Good luck with your new truck
