I have a ’06 F-350 Harley Davidson that came with everything but the “upfitter switches”. My buddy just purchased a ’07 F-350 that has the switches and he would prefer the little cubby instead. Both have the trailer brake controller. I can have the switches if I can put the cubby in his truck properly.
I searched for info on removing the switches and replacing them with the cubby but was unsuccessful. I found plenty on installing the switches from the different kits available. Has anybody done this swap? I’m unsure if I will be able to get the entire harness and relays or will I need to just cut wires behind the switches. Am I better off buying the kit and not doing the swap? Any info would be helpful.
The switches, by default, are not wired to anything other than the relay box that sits behind the glove box. Overall, it should be a relatively easy matter to get the switches, the wiring harness & relay box out of the donor, and get them transplanted into your truck.
