Just the other night I was filling up my Jetta (gasser) at the local Safeway and noticed that they just put in new a pump for diesel. As you expect, I just about crapped my pants because my mother-in-law always has the 10 cent discount for spending $50 or more (shshsh, don't tell her I use her code, besides she fills up at costco). Well I proceded to enter the codes yadayadayada and then grabbed the green handle and almost put the nozzle up to the car and then realized what I was doing. Just wondering if anyone else has done this. Also, this morning I filled up for 2.65 instead of 2.75. God bless Safeway as well as my mother-in-law and her 10 cent discount.
We are up to 2.53 here in central NJ. Not bad considering some of the others and also that regular gasoline is up to 2.43. I'd much rather pump diesel into my gasser than gasoline into my Diesel.
SoCal (San Diego County, East)
Best price in the last 5 weeks = $2.69 @ Arco- AM/PM
Best price in the last 5 hours = $2.88 (filled up this morning) @ Vallero
Highest price that I've seen today = $3.67!!! @ Chevron!!
However, diesel fuel is now cheaper than regular gas. 5 weeks ago, regular was $0.80/gallon less than diesel.
Last weekend, Diesel = $3.07 at the cheap station....
Get out of Santee and into El Cajon. The Valerro on the corner of Washington and Grannit Hills is the low price @ $2.88. The next lowest is in Chula Vista, but that's a drive... $2.89 AM/PM E st@I5
Wouldn't it be nice if Costco starts selling Diesel!! The lowest I'm buying is $2.92 for Diesel at Spirit Fuels and $2.99 for regular at Costco in the Ventura Co. area. and the price of Diesel at the three major brands are in the $3 - $3.67 ranges.
