Trans cooler

Hey all, I have a 99 F-350 PSD CC LB with and Automatic. I want to put another cooler for the trans. I have another stock trans cooler I thought I might put inline with the other cooler. By adding another stock cooler to the exesting one do you think I will be able to keep the temps down or should I get a tru-cool or a 6.0 cooler to add better? I will be pulling a 5th about 10k in New Mexico. I currently get temps of about 130 - 170 in town driving not loaded.

You might want to try the stock one, but if your still getting high temps move up to the tru-cool or 6oh cooler. If it was me i would just get the tru-cool or 6oh since they are both much bigger that the stock one.

If you pull at road speeds, the Tru Cool 40K works great (I pull heavier loads in the same country you are going to go this summer and rarely see 170 in the summer). If you go out in the back-country where you have to poke along at slow speeds, I'd get a comparable cooler, but with an electric fan. Summit Racing has some of those units for around $150.

Thanks guys, I think Im going to invest in the tru cool unit. The 6.0 one on ebay is getting a little high 200 +. I can get one from ford dealer at my price for just over 300. 120 is not bad for the tru cool.

That's the hydroboost cooler behind the bumper.
The transmission cooler is between the CAC and the AC condenser.

I would reccomend either the extra stock cooler or the 6.0 stack plate cooler. Both are the stack plate design but the 6.0 is twice the size I had a perma cool 18k before the 6.0 and ran it in tandem with the stock and also by itself. By itself it warmed up to fast and stayed there. With the stock one in the loop temps were cooler.
