I posted earlier about having problems with a lift on a twin I-Beam suspension. I was curious if anyone has done a solid axle swap and what axle I need to get ahold of? Any info on this will be greatly appreciated.
Yours is easy, any D60 will go in there, you may have to relocate the spring perches on the axle depending on the year of the axle you select, but it is an easy swap. Guess the same apllies for the D44 if you go that route, or even a later model D50. Which ever you decide to install will require the same things to install.
The troublesome trucks are early trucks using late axles, but late trucks can use any axle. This is due to the frame widths, and cast axle perches on the early differential housings, that are not present on later model axles.
