Timing
Ok awhile back I went to try and time my old truck so I hook up the timing light and idle its at 10 degrees normal so I rev it up and it starts to advance then snap right back to 10 degrees under revs. any Ideas?
I did try to disconnect the pink wire it said in the manual that is connected to the distributer but there is no pink wire

Ahhhh, another member with timing issues. I feel your pain. I don't know about a "pink" wire, but there is supposed to be this "spout" connector in your wire harness that will hold the timing so you can set it to the base of 10 deg BTDC. As for it's location...... for me it has been like playing "Where is Waldo". Every model truck seems to have it in a different place. If you look over some of the threads I have you will see some of the suggestions people have.
