In my quest to figure out if I should be a new 07, I thought I would inquire as to what kind of mileage people were seeing with there 07 6.0's. My current 04 crew cab, short bed, srw 4x4, with a 4" lift, 35's, 3.73 gears and turbo back exhaust system is getting about 14.5 mpg on the interstate and probably about 13 around town.
A guy I work with claims his 05 with exact same set up plus a tuner is getting about 18 sometimes 19 on the interstate. Just wondering if the mileage somehow got better with the later model 6.0's.
my father picked up one of the last ordered 07' 6.0's and hes been getting 15-16 highway and 13-14 city. 5000 miles on the truck. crew cab srw short bed 3:73 stock tires.
07 with 700 miles gettting 14 mpg around town, waiting till I have atleast 1000 miles before I out my sct on it, putting MBRP system on Sat. Got a buddy that has a 07 Harley Edition and he is claiming 21 mpg with it, I think he is full of it. My 04 was getting 15.8 around town, tuned with 33" 4.10 gears.
Have an 06' F-350, 6.0 almost 19 k now, best mpg I have seen is 17.5 , usually local mileage was 14 to 15 in the summer, winter mileage is around 12 mpg here , hilly and rather short trips,, and then theres snow plowing !
Had new buzz after shutdown flash at beginning of Feb prior to trip to Iowa. Driving 70 MPH up I-35 to Bethany, MO (563 mi.) my hand calculated MPG was 14.91 vs displayed 15.6. I fill to the brim everytime. I also switched to Synthetic Rotella prior to this trip.
My 06 gets worse economy than my 04; same size and brand tires; basically the same truck. Son-in-law traded an 04 for 06 at same time and he is getting 12’s for fuel economy; dealer could find nothing wrong.
