Frame Rot Question

In my search for a used Bronco it is no secret on its potential to rot in the usual spots, tail gate, doors, rear qtrs, gas tank, but are there any common hidden areas that rot, like on the frame?

Frame Rot Question

Frames usually survive the best. Check inside the rear wheel wells and look at the top inside of those wheelwells. Yes the usual Tailgates, Doors, rear wheel arches, door pillars, floor all are repairable.

Post Frame Rot Question

You didnt say what year you are looking for,but my experience around here with the 78-79 style is the front cab mounts rotting. If the front fenders sag and dont line up with the hood its a pretty good guess that the mounts are shot. Also have somebody wiggle the steering wheel back and forth a little while you're looking at the frame by the steering box-they like to crack there, youll be able to see it moving if it is.Either way its a good idea to check these on any year bronco just to be safe.Good luck in your search.
