Adding Lights

I want to add some aux lights to my 00 ex. In my '82 and '95 F350 there was a factory wire connection under the hood that went to the light switch (I am guessing for running these lights) and by running from this connection and to the relay I would elimnate the possiblity of running the lights when I dont want them. Only when the headlight switch was on unless I turn the the aux light toggle off. Since there are numerous more wires under the hood on the ex, I was wondering if someone else has already done the research under the hood? I tried searching this site but couldn't narrow my search down enough to get any answers.

There are customer access wires that pass through the firewall. They terminate right above the master cylinder and underneath the dash. You can use those to wire something up. Maybe someone that has access to the wiring diagram in the steering column can tell you which wire you can tap into that is a KEYED HOT wire.

I plan on using the access wires to get inside for the toggle switch. I was just hoping that I could find an easy access wire that was controlled by the factory light switch like my other trucks. I suppose a wiring schematic is the easiest way.

Oh...

Why don't you power the relay directly off the marker light? (blinker) I used it to power the relay for my two 55W Hellas on my old Excursion.
