2000 Navigator Transmission problems?

I have heard that the 2000 transmissions always went out around 50k possibly a little later. Something to do with the mechanical diode OWC. Is there any truth to this? Should I stay away from buying a 2000 because of this?

It's a Ford issued TSB, is true, and like I told you on the other forum...if you cannot verify if the trans has been replaced, plan on doing it at some time in the future.
If you're gonna tell people that you were told something-at least get it straight.
Usually they go before 50k miles, but sometimes, they last awhile longer

Well thanks for you reply on here also. I was trying to do some research about the problem you have told me about. All I could find was the following article:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/tsb/full...hp?tsb=01-13-5

Is this the issue you have discussed with me?

If so, it looks like I could check the build date on the vehicle and as long as it was built before 7/27/2000 the vehicle should be fine. Or maybe that is just the builds for the 2001 years. I could not find an article about the 2000's though. I thought maybe there should be some information about this somewhere.

That's it..check the production date-I had a copy of the TSB here at home, but not at work to check the dates for you.
