You just might wish to give him a List then of what He'll need to do it.
Though, Guy, if you were to do a Bored & Stroked 292 using 312 Performance Parts w/ a Cruise-O-Matic & be Different from All the rest that just have to replace the original engine & trans w/ something they believe is a snorting monster & believe will get everyones attention.
When doing what I suggested will Acquire more attention then he can handle for your truck, as the Other has been done to Death.
And by-the-by, Guy, That's '57-'60, the "Orphan Years", which is the Origin of the Styleside trucks.

Thanks guys, I was planning on going 390 because it's what I had, but I got a 302 and an auto tranny yesterday so that is probably the rout I will go. The truck is a 59 and it previously had a 351M and an auto tranny in it, so I figure the transplant won't be too bad. My first truck was a 57 with a 300 and a 3 speed on the floor and the wrap-around back glass. I redid that origional and I have and all origional 1950 Plymouth 2dr special deluxe, so I don't have anything against going origional, but the truck is comming w/o engine or tranny and I have a v8 for it so that is the way I plan on going. By the way, it needs a LOT of work otherwise also. Thanks again guys, I'm sure your future insight will prove invaluable.
That should be an even easier transplant. Most of us here have nothing against "going over to the darkside", heck many even have an unmentionable brand engine in our trucks. We are always willing to help, it's just that your original question was way to broad to answer in more detail than you got. The engine bay, suspension and frame width allow for just about any engine transplant anyone might want to do, and there are parts available and/or easily fabricated that makes the process nearly as simple as doing a stock engine replacement. Any time you have a question, please try to be specific about what info you need to get more detailed answers.
