I have decided to add headers to my f-350, because the 5.4 even with a jba cat-back is still not as muscular as I would like...
Does anyone know how much an istallation would cost me? I live in the New Jersey area, and unfortunately I do not have the time or the tools to undergo such a large project.
And another thing; is it important for me to go with the jba headers for my cat-back or can I go with a gibson or an edelbrock? They would be lighter on my wallet...
There is no need to stay with the same brand. It would be nice but no required. When I installed the headers on my V10, it took me two full days. You are right. Not a huge job, just time consuming. After saying that, I would guess you are in the $750 to $1200 range for the job maybe higher. One mechanic by himself at 8 hours times $80 per hour is $640. And you are talking about some fabrication to go from the header pipes to the NEW y pipe. Yes do the Y pipe if it is pre 2005 truck. So labor and materials would be close to a $1000.
I my local Ford dealer sells and installs Gale Banks stuff. They quoted me $1500 for the install. Granted it is a Ford dealer.
Gibson are a bolt on I belive, no need to fabircate. the Eldelbrok I think will not fit Superduty. I have still yet to see non superduty f250 but I'm sure they make them. BBK dosen't state wether or not sd is an issue. so were pretty limited on choices. I've been looking around let me know which ones you decide I'm intersted to see what most consider the best choice.
