Question Lift kit question?

I have a '06 F150 4x4 and was wondering about the Syjacker 3" lift kit. Can you still use your OEM wheels? I know you can use them on the Rancho 4" kit. Thanks.

lift kits will not affect the use of your OEM wheels. the tire you use to upsize affects your OEM wheels.

alot of oversize tires are not exactly safe to use on the stock narrow OEM wheels. you'll likely have to get a wider wheel to accomodate the bigger rubber.

although, honestly, why bother with a 3" lift? look into a 2.5" spring spacer. I just installed 'em on my truck and I can fit up to 34" tires without rubbing.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...installed.html

I don't know what truck you've got, but my OEM wheels/tires are 32". you can see in the post what I mean about the room that this little 2.5" spacer makes. in addition, I only paid $89 for the spacer

Tylus is correct on both points. We do the spacers with 32.8 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ and Procomps on our Mojave PKG, it's the way to go. But the factory rim can only handle a 11" wide tire (BFG Mud T/A's)

I strongly reccomend not getting the 3" lift, I have one and been through two of them and the one I have is once again falling apart and I can't even get another if I wanted to (which is fine by me)

I dont want to go for a 6" lift I would prefer to get a 4" which I dont think they make but I am still looking.

So has anyone heard of a 4" for this truck? I thought I heard somethinn about a 4.5" with all the proper parts (like new knuckles ect..) but can't find it again?????

Thats my two cents

Hollywood, what 3" lift do you have? How is it falling apart? Yes, Rancho does make a 4" lift for the '04-current F-150. It's nice, although about $2,500.

I have the skyjacker 3", I havn't been very happy with it since I got it, like I said I have destroyed one aloready and the one I have in now is leaking oil very badly out of the front shocks

Does anyone have a 4" installed in thier truck? I have to replace the one I have now sometime in the near Future.

Per spacer or per set? Did you install them yourself or have them installed?

$89 for the set, and I installed them in the driveway myself. total cost for the entire install was $94

I have the 3" skyjacker with stock KR rims and BFG AT KO 285x65rx18's. I have had absolutely no problem with my lift. It rides great after about 12,000 miles. I like the look!

No problems at all. I have not been off-road a ton, buy I have been hunting a few times in some pretty rough terrain and no problems.

Dastud I am glad you havn't had any problems, if you havn't already just take a look at youre shaft on the inverted shock in the front and see if it's starting to weep. If its not youre probably OK.

I had a thread started here awhile ago and sounds like everyone else that bought these lifts have had problems. The place where I got them from doesn't sell them anymore becasue of the same problems I'm having.

Anyways Good luck,
