The lift is going on Thursday and now I'm trying to decide on the tires. I have a 2000 CC LB V10 with 4.30's. I'm having a 6" lift put on and was pretty much set on 35's until I saw 37's with the same lift. I don't do a lot of towing but may be pulling a 3-4K trailer up Baker grade every other month. Will I be able to pull 37's with the 4.30's?
I have a 2000 F250 s/cab Lb V10 4.30 with 4" lift. I recently towed pretty heavy from California to Colorado. The 35s killed towing performance. I switched back to stock wheels and tires during the trip. Just keep your stockers in the garage and use those if you have to do any real towing.
For a 6" lift I would go with 37s. 37s do cost alot more than most 35s, thats why I went with a 4" instead of 6".
I just put on 37"s and I will never go back. They do cost more but I got a deal from a buddy for 600 bucks 4 rims and tires with at least 3/4 tread life left. I figure at this point you only live once.
I have 4:30's and I like how it drives better now than with the 35"s I have not towed the trailer yet but if I have to go a little slower oh well.
lvgto -- You are going to feel the difference in towing for sure, but you are going to feel the difference even when emtpy with 37" tires.
IMO...with a 3-4k in tow...the V10 can do it, but it will drink more and rev higher doing it. If you only tow that amount once in a while, then you should be fine.
Make sure to take pics and post...should look wicked cool after with that lift and tire combo!
Dont forget to save for yearly balljoint replacement, occasional tie rods, frequent alignments retruing and ballancing of tires. Had 315s on mine for 2 years glad i neede to go back to stock for heavy pulling.
